Weekly Photo Challege: Up – The Moon

The Moon

The Moon

Looking up for this week’s challenge I find the moon. I only wish I had a longer lens and tripod for this shot.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Change – Day to Night

This photo is my first entry and take on the weekly photo challenge featured here. This week’s theme is “Change“and this is my image. Day to Night, the tracks make the change as they approach the horizon.

Day to Night

This is my first attempt at creating this type of image and am very pleased at how it turned out, I hope you would like it too.

Update: The same picture done a bit differently.

Day to Night 2

Day to Night 2

Personally when looking at the both images side by side I think this one looks better with the day changing to night with the distance compared to the first picture where day and night were separated by the fences on both sides. I would actually like to hear your thoughts on this in the comments.

So far it has been a wonderful first year at The University of Nottingham, UK. In this first year for the first time in my life I saw actual SNOW! An absolutely wonderful experience (although I have been told I will come to hate it some time in the future…. this I will not believe).

At the time of writing this post all the snow has melted, but photos I still have, Enjoy.

Hello and Welcome

I’m Jason (Jia Shen Ang),  currently age 18, and a first year student at the University of Nottingham.

As I am writing this first blog post it is Monday the 8th of April, 2013 –  The middle of my Easter holiday, and although I should be happy to escape all the work that comes with being a university student… I find myself with very little to do. With that in mind I looked at what I had on hand and came up with a something to do… Canon EOS 60D + old photos + lots of time = new photo/photography blog.

Being the creative person I am, I have decided to name the blog Jia Shen Photography. (My name) + Photography = great new photo blog title, I am going to struggle with this…

Anyway… Some photos, for now I’ll post a few of my older photos.

I hope you have enjoyed this initial set of photos, sadly these are old photos and there isn’t a great deal of connection between them. In future posts I will try to get some new images maybe even with a theme in mind, eventually I hope this photo blog of my can grow into something like a photo 365 project, but I have a feeling it wont get that far…

Hopefully if I attempt to update this blog at least once every week (or two)… maybe something can grow out of it.
